Progress on "High Noon"

I started out on this doing my usual machine applique. But then decided to switch to raw edge...a bit unusual for me, but I like the way "rescue me" turned out so I thought I'd stick with less formal quilting for this one.  After all, this is a fun piece.

All the applique has now been stitched down, and the outlining.  Tomorrow I'll be ready to start the background fill.

The background fabric is Vicki's yellow to red gradient and all the applique fabrics are her hand dyes too with the exception of the black.

  1. The Raw edge appliqué looks great, one of these days I'm going to try some because I hate to stitch it down on the machine and don't have eight time to do hand appliqué.

I love the detailed quilting on the wings and the leaf! Did you finish the raw edges with straight stitch? Lovely!
