Chloe Waits for Her New Baby Brother

We're still waiting, but our wonderful breeder tells us that there is progress on the weaning front. Not there yet, but getting closer. Hopefully by next weekend we can go get him. But in the meantime...we'll watch Chloe wait.

It makes me tired waiting for him...I have to take frequent naps

Is he here yet?

When's he gonna get here?

All right, guess I'll take another nap while I wait!

Bet you forgot about the socks....

I finished the green pair...still not quite sized right and lots of mistakes, but perfectly functional.

And I loved the yarn I dyed for the very first pair I made that were way too small.  So I dyed some more yarn similar to it and started another pair.

I LOVE this yarn!  And I finally got the size perfect!  And so far, no booboo's!

This pair is going much faster. And I am loving the magic loop technique!  And for now, knitting one sock at a time works better for me.  I really look forward to  finishing this one and starting it's mate!

And today I got my batting order from Quilters Dream...I had let my supply get really low for the move. But now I'm in good shape for a while!

And on the kitty front...we're still waiting for our boy to wean so we can bring him home...hopefully soon!

And in other news, I have 2 new patterns coming out for Vicki's gradients in a few days...watch for her announcement about that. And the next Fiberactions reveal is on Sunday...stay tuned for that too!

Have a great night!

High Noon Done & Bound

Yesterday  my friend Karen from Florida was visiting. We had a nice visit; went to the quilt shop and had lunch.  The last few quilts I have done, I bound them in a black and white dot fabric. I really like the cool black and white agaisnt my vibrant colors.

Trying to break this habit, I took the quilt with us to the shop and auditioned a number of fabrics for binding.  Guess what? I came home with yet another black & white dot.  Really, it looked the best against all those hot colors!

Time to trim...decided I wanted a random wavy edge, so I just got the rotary cutter and went to work winging my way rulerless around the quilt!  I made a binding from 2" bias strips  of the b&w dot and put it on.

I like the result!

On to the next project!

"High Noon" Quilting is Done!

I finished the quilting up late this afternoon. It's still on the frame but I did get a few photos.

Some of the pictures aren't the best, but I'll get some good ones once I get it off the frame.

And on the kitty front, today we got word from our breeder that the new baby boy will not be able to come home with us on Sunday.  He still hasn't weaned completely...and still cries for his mommy...even though he is 12 weeks old.  But Ragdolls sometimes take a little longer to mature, so while we would love to have him home with us, we want what is best for him.  So we'll wait another week  or two for him to be ready.

Our breeder did send a couple new pictures of him though.  It's amazing how much they change in a couple weeks!  His face has really changed from that pudgy baby face. He's  going to be a beauty....

I just can't wait to get him home and start doting on him!

"High Noon" Background Work

Today I worked on the background in the red section...bottom of the quilt.  I'm using Superior's Lava thread #201 in this section.

And yes, these photos are true to color...they really are that intense and saturated!  If you have not tried Vicki's gradients yet, you really should treat yourself...they are absolutely yummy!

I like using a variety of background fillers because it wards off boredom :) and it add a lot of visual interest.  Here we are getting into the orange section..just as saturated as the red...love these colors!

Tomorrow, I'll switch thread color and finish it up.

And here are a couple shots of Princess Chloe...falling asleep on the job!

My sweet angel girl...

Progress on "High Noon"

I started out on this doing my usual machine applique. But then decided to switch to raw edge...a bit unusual for me, but I like the way "rescue me" turned out so I thought I'd stick with less formal quilting for this one.  After all, this is a fun piece.

All the applique has now been stitched down, and the outlining.  Tomorrow I'll be ready to start the background fill.

The background fabric is Vicki's yellow to red gradient and all the applique fabrics are her hand dyes too with the exception of the black.
