Happy New Year!

A day late, but we just returned late yesterday from our trip to New Orleans and a long overdue family visit.  We had a wonderful time, ate waaaaaaaaay too much fabulous food, hugged & kissed family and friends we hadn't seen in way too long.  It was a wonderful week.  It even spawned an idea for a new mixed media project!

Even though I took my camera, I managed to take very few pictures....fortunately though, my dear SIL captured the important moments I missed.

And Chloe and Harry were at home with their 'cat nanny'.  They missed us, but did fine...this is an option we'll use again.  I loved being able to talk to their 'nanny' every day and get a report. They are both even more clingy and talkative than usual today, but I think that is to be expected after their  first time being left at home without both Mom & Dad!  And tonight, things are almost back to our 'normal'.

SO, it's a new year, and I have lots of projects swirling around in my head and making their way to my sketchbooks.  Lots of stuff will be coming in this new year, so stay tuned.  Thanks for visiting and offering your comments, and I hope you'll continue to visit in the coming year.

I'll leave you with a couple pictures....driving across Mobile Bay

And  a streetcar on St. Charles in New Orleans

And that's it for tonight.  I wish you  all a happy, healthy, prosperous, and creative New Year!

  1. Oh Deb....you were down in my neck of the woods. I live 40 miles SW of New Orleans. I wish we would have gotten a chance to meet. Happy New Year to you and your family.

  2. Glad things went well with the cats - it's always worrisome when you try something new.
