I'm finally all well. It feels good to feel good again. Just in time for the Florida summer...heat index the last 2 days 103...bleck!
I spent this past week teaching in two places...online class at MQR and a private workshop in Miami...I had to work hard to keep my little pea brain straight with what to say and do when, lol!
I got an e-mail yesterday from EQ, that my EQ7 shipped yesterday, yeah!
Found out that a new fabric shop is opening June 10 IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD...I mean right down the street! I went by there today and drooled as I watched them thru the window putting bolt after bolt of beautiful batiks on the shelves..and they are carrying Superior threads..great to have in case I run out in the middle of a project.
My DSM started acting up yesterday, and I could't fix the issue after 3 hours of trying. Took it in to my dealer (Expert Sewing) just before noon; they called me at 3pm to say it was fixed and ready.WOW, how's that for customer service?!
Don fixed a scrumptious dinner tonight.
And I have two fur babies asleep in my lap as I write this, Life is good!

Kitties and a manicure
Kim pointed out a couple days ago, it has been a while since the kitties appeared on the blog. So tonight, here they are...

keeping an eye out at the door

keeping an eye on Mom

a stretch and a scratch

bath time

I know that catnip mouse is here somewhere...

a treat please!

Got it!
Then on to the manicure...the following photos are not for the faint of heart. There is a reason I usually go and pay for a manicure.... it will be evident after viewing these next photos.
I've been so busy, I thought I'd try it myself....big mistake!

not only are they not filed evenly...do ya think I got enough polish on my skin???? ROFLMAO!
And just so you know that was NOT a fluke, the other hand is not any better,LOL!

Oh well, next time it's back to the salon for me...though I guess the color on the skin will wear off in a couple days :)

Recovery
I got home from MQS and was sick with a terrible cold. A few days of misery and not accomplishing very much, but today I'm much better.
AND, the Moons and Lizards were returned home today. I had a wonderful surprise in with the moons...a Teacher's ribbon from Cristyn Merry! So I ended up with a ribbon on both quilts after all. Thanks again Cristyn!
Now that I'm feeling back to normal, I need to straighten up my work rooms...everything looks like a tornado came through after the rush to meet my deadlines! After that, I have a few last minute details to finish up on my Moon patterns that will debut in June with kits of Vicki's beautiful fabrics.
And then on to finalizing the design details for my next 3 quilts....so construction will start soon on those.
But for tonight, I'm just enjoying being home and feeling human again.

Headed Home
Sitting in the airport in Kansas City waiting to board my flight home. MQS was great again this year.
I had some terrific students in my classes, and got to see friends. Spent, most of my money between superior threads and sew batik.
AND, "Solar Powered" placed second in the innovative whole cloth category.
All in all a good ( exhausting) trip , but I'll be glad to get home to Don, Chloe and Harry!
Got to go, time to fly!

And they're gone!
Whew! The quilts are done and out of here! Thanks for all your words of encouragement the last couple days. My friend the UPS guy just left a little bit ago with my overnight package to Kansas. And ho boy, was the price of procrastination high!
But done and gone is good...maybe next year I'll be better organised....or maybe not, lol!
Here are the last minute photos taken just before going in the box... not set up properly cause I had to hurry, but at least minus the bedpost this time ;)

Binding Marathon
I am at the 11th hour...the deadline for arrival is Thursday at 5pm. Down to the hand sewing now, bindings, sleeves and labels.
And of course, I can't find my favorite binding needle.
Two entries: "Seasons of the Moon" and "Solar Powered"....those two entries translate to
6 bindings
2 sleeves
2 labels
My fingers are already sore!
I'm just thankful there is such a thing called "overnight express"
